Santa Rosa, CA – Fresno City College earned their state-leading 12th team championship with 191.0
team points, with six of FCC’s wrestlers winning individual titles and two others claiming second.
Additionally, Rams head coach Paul Keysaw locked down his seventh state title, which is the most of any
California Community College wrestling Coach. Last year was his sixth title, tying former San Bernardino
Valley College wrestling coach Robert Smith, but now Keysaw has sole possession of the most titles.
Keysaw won three state titles while coaching at Moorpark College and has won titles in 2006, 2008, 2010
and 2011 at Fresno City.
Second place Sacramento City College was a distant second place with 94 team points, with Mt. San
Antonio (91 team points), Sierra College (85) and West Hills College (79) rounding out the top five
teams.
Fresno City’s six individual champions this weekend also breaks the state record of five individual
champions, set by El Camino College in 1964-65. Returning to defend their state titles were Fresno City’s
Conrad Rangel at 149 lbs, Tigran Adzhemyan at 165 lbs and Martin Fabbian at 174 lbs.
